Attachment Parenting Workshop
Feburary 27
4:30-5:30
The development of a secure attachment between parent and child is the focus of attachment parenting. Developing a secure bond is a process that can begin as early as birth and continues through the life span. Securely attached children are more likely to be confident, well-liked by peers, risk takers and leaders with strong social skills and high self-esteem. Your child's secure relationship with you will form the basis for all subsequent relationships: from peer friendships to adult love relationships. This workshop includse lecture, discussion and experiential exercises. |

The Emotional Body
As children, we learned to defend ourselves from feelings and experiences that were difficult, painful or maybe even traumatic. We learned to defend ourselves in ways that include not breathing properly, spacing out, needing to be in control, or not trusting others.
As an adult, you no longer need to defend yourself like you did as a child, but the body has adapted and developed around your defenses, supporting life patterns that are deeply held in your body. In this workshop series, we will explore your images, defenses and life patterns and how they manifest in your body. We will look at your defenses in relationship to the following existential issues: Existence, Need, Autonomy, Trust and Love.
The body is a wonderful map that contains your history, deepest longings, defenses and gifts. We can learn so much about ourselves and others through sensing the body’s subtle communication: energy flow, posture and movement. This workshop will include discussion and experiential exercises designed to help you understand and explore your body’s energetic patterns in a supportive environment.
