I have been in private practice for 10 years. My specialty is in treating relational trauma, specifically adult survivors of childhood abuse and domestic violence. I also maintain a special focus on relationships: my clients range from severe domestic violence cases to couples wanting to deepen their commitment. A common thread that links my work with clients is the resolution of childhood issues, and re-creating a secure attachment within the therapeutic relationship.
My primary commitment is to help guide my clients toward their truth. I offer clients validation, warmth, support, compassion and humor in hopes of developing a secure relationship. My belief is that once that security bonds into trust, the exploration through any personal issues can begin.
I have an eclectic training and integrate traditional psychodynamic perspectives with current knowledge on attachment theories, body-centered methods and mindfulness. In other words, I will help you to move forward from your past and support you in feeling all of your feelings. You will learn how to live in the present, and let go of painful or traumatic memories. Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, you will learn how to let go of patterns and defenses that inhibit intimacy, and practice developing skills that lead to healthy and meaningful relationships. |

Insurance
I do not accept insurance, but I am reimbursable out of network. If your health plan has out of network coverage, typical reimbursement rates are between 50 % - 80 %.
If you are paying out of pocket for psychotherapy and are on a budget, consider joining a group. Group therapy is an inexpensive, yet powerful way to give and receive support and learn how to change negative life patterns. You can supplement group work with individual sessions as often or as little as you would like. Another option for managing the cost of therapy is to consider coming in twice a month instead of weekly.
