Sex and Relationship Therapy in Hilton Head, South Carolina

Virtual therapy for adults and couples navigating intimacy, ADHD, parenting, and family life.

Living in a place people visit to unwind doesn’t mean your life feels restful. You may be managing a demanding schedule, raising children, adjusting to a move, or wondering why you and your partner feel disconnectedeven though you care deeply for each other.

At Joanne Bagshaw & Associates, we offer a space to explore what lies beneath that disconnection. Our work integrates sex therapy, relationship counseling, and support for ADHD and executive functioning, with attention to how daily responsibilities and family experiences shape intimacy.

Whether you are seeking support on your own or with a partner, our goal is to help you make room for your needs, recognize recurring patterns, and build more satisfying relationships with yourself and others.

Parenting Support Without Losing Sight of Your Relationship

Are most of your conversations about schedules, chores, and what the children need? We help parents make room for the parts of themselves and their relationships that can get overlooked.

Parenting-focused therapy may address disagreements about expectations, the division of household responsibilities, boundaries with extended family, or changes in identity and intimacy. For parents navigating ADHD—their own or their child’s—we can explore routines and communication that fit their family rather than an unrealistic picture of how family life should work.

Our focus is on supporting you as a parent, an individual, and a partner.

Support for Military Families in the Lowcountry

Our services welcome military-connected adults and couples in the Hilton Head area and the broader Lowcountry, including families connected to Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort and the Parris Island community.

Military life can involve periods of separation, changing responsibilities, and readjustment after a partner returns home. Reunion may require time to renegotiate routines and reconnect emotionally and sexually.

Therapy can focus on communicating during transitions, discussing expectations for reconnection, sharing parenting responsibilities, and making space for each partner’s experience.

ADHD, Executive Functioning, and Your Relationship

ADHD can involve challenges with organization, time management, remembering responsibilities, and following through on plans. These difficulties can affect home life and relationships—not just work or school.

Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by everything you need to remember, or your partner feels responsible for keeping daily life on track. In therapy, we can explore both the practical challenges and the meaning each person gives them.

Our work may include developing manageable routines, making responsibilities more explicit, and discussing needs without turning every conversation into criticism or defensiveness. We also make space to explore how distraction, exhaustion, and unresolved tension show up in your intimate life.

Sex Therapy That Makes Room for Your Experience

You do not need to have the “right” words to talk about sex. You may be experiencing differences in desire, feeling anxious about intimacy, struggling to communicate preferences, or trying to understand how past experiences affect present-day connection.

Sex therapy offers space to explore these concerns individually or with a partner. We focus on your comfort, boundaries, pleasure, and goals—not on prescribing how often you should have sex or what a relationship is supposed to look like.
